FRITZ!Box 7330 – Service

Media files are not sorted correctly

When playback devices or software access the FRITZ!Box Media Server, they do not sort media files (music, image and video files) or do not sort them in the expected order (for example alphabetically).

Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the issue persists.

1 Installing the latest FRITZ!OS

2 Files are sorted according to the order defined by FRITZ!Box

3 Files are sorted according to the order defined by the playback device or software

Playback devices or software may define a particular sorting order for the FRITZ!Box Media Server:

Important:If a playback device or software defines the order, the FRITZ!Box sorts media files as defined by the playback device or software!

  • Configure the playback device or software so that it sorts media files the way they are sorted by the FRITZ!Box Media Server,
    • or, if you do not want to have files sorted the way the FRITZ!Box sorts them,
  • select the sorting order you want in the playback device or software.

Note:You can find information on sorting media files in the corresponding manual, or consult the manufacturer of the playback device or software.
